Straight Silver is the sixth novel in Dan Abnett's Gaunt's Ghosts series and the third book in the Saint arc, sending Colonel-Commissar Ibram Gaunt and the Tanith First-and-Only to the war-torn world of Aexe Cardinal. A distinctive change of pace for the series, Straight Silver places the Ghosts in a prolonged trench war reminiscent of the First World War, exploring how a regiment built for mobility and infiltration copes with an army that expects it to fight a very different kind of battle.
